Minecraft In The World Language Classroom

Diana López is from Puerto Rico. This is her twenty-fourth year in education and her thirteenth year teaching at Loudoun County Public Schools in Northern Virginia. She teaches Middle School Spanish Level II and Spanish for Fluent Speakers levels 1-2. She is the curriculum development lead for Spanish for Fluent Speakers Levels 1-4H and also led the Spanish curriculum development from 2016 to 2019. She loves to teach, empower, and educate the youth, giving them opportunities to thrive and find their voice, helping them to be prepared and become productive citizens. She is a lifelong learner and truly believes that all students can learn, and learning should be interesting, active, fun, and engaging. She loves the beach, camping, and traveling with her family. She also enjoys reading, gardening, watching TV series, and listening to music. Most of all, she values spending time with her family and good friends. Some of her achievements include being recognized as an Outstanding Educator 2021 at her school and being a nominee for the Washington Post Teacher of the Year 2021. This year, she has been recognized by LCPS WLC Department as the World Language and Culture Leader of the Year 2023.
